Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) Policy
PURPOSE:
To establish a policy in accordance with New York State Freedom of Information Law (FOIL).
STATEMENT OF POLICY:
- The Assistant to the President/Secretary to the Board of Trustees will serve as the
College’s Records Access Officer.
- The Records Access Officer shall respond to requests for access to records under FOIL
within five business days indicating either (a) that the request is being granted
or denied, or (b) and approximate anticipated date when the request will be granted
or denied.
- The College may charge an administrative fee for providing copies of records.
- Anyone requesting records may appeal the College’s denial of a record within 30 days
to the College President at:

Watertown, NY 13601 - A complete appeal will include:
- The date of the appeal
- The name and address of the requestor
- The date of the request for records
- The records to which the requestor was denied access
- The date of the appeal
- The President will decide appeals and set forth the reasons for the denial in writing within ten days of receiving the complete appeal.
