Copyright Policy

PURPOSE:

To establish a policy to recognize and support the Copyright Laws protecting printed materials, sound recordings, video recordings, and visual artwork.

STATEMENT OF POLICY:

Jefferson Community College expects all members of the College community to adhere to the provisions of the United States Copyright Law (Title 17, United States Code, Section 101, et seq.). Copyright protection applies to a variety of works- including, but not limited to printed materials, sound recordings, video recordings, and visual artworks. Anyone who plans to reproduce, alter, or perform works that are protected by copyright should follow the guidelines presented in the Copyright Handbook of Jefferson Community College. This manual is maintained and updated by the staff of the Jefferson Community College Library.
